Just Software AG

Just Software is a software company in the social business software industry based in Hamburg.
Just Software's main product is Just Connect, which is an Social Networking and Online Collaboration Software suite.
History
The history of Just Software AG is conjoined with the development of their product Just Connect. A development that started in 2007 with the aim of running a non-profit social networking website, named kaioo. The kaioo community caught brief interest during early 2008 when the German Facebook-clone StudiVZ was involved in a data scandal growing to a size of about 35.000 users. Users found Just Software's early product a serious competitor to the German StudiVZ.
The formation of the OpenNetworX foundation in 2008, still a non-profit undertaking, and in conjunction with it OpenNetworX.org as a follow-up meta platform for social networks was based on the distinctive structural element, the network system, that had already been implemented with the first version of kaioo. OpenNetworX allows for the creation of individual networks, making kaioo one of many networks. Such networks can be accessed either via Subdomain, e.g. arbeiterkind.opennetworx.org or via setting the CNAME record of an external URL. Currently OpenNetworX supports 450 networks with more than 48.000 users.
In early 2009 the commercial fork of the software Just Connect was used for its first for-profit installation: and has since been implemented for several extranet-communities (e.g. engagiert-in-deutschland.de with more than 6.000 users or Alumniportal Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes) and as an Intranet 2.0 Software for Bertelsmann and several other small to large companies.
Just Software's product is comparable to other vendor's Social Business Software like Jive Sofware, ELGG or Lotus Connections.
Technology
The software has been developed with the help of the Google Web Toolkit and runs in all major browsers. It allows for hosting through the vendor as part of an SaaS agreement or internal company hosting.
