Julie Iny

Julie Iny is an American activist and the contributor of an essay to The Flying Camel: Essays on Identity by Women of North African and Middle Eastern Jewish Heritage, she is committed to ending oppression, racism, and antisemitism. She was born to an Ashkenazi mother and Mizrahi father, who came from a family that had immigrated from Iraq to India.
Julie opposes the war in Iraq and has demonstrated so with banner reading, "Iraqi lives are precious". She also commented, that the war is "really inflicting terror on people who were already suffering". She currently resides in Oakland.
