JoSoMo is the nickname given to the pitching combination of Joba Chamberlain, Rafael Soriano, and Mariano Rivera. Biographies Joba Chamberlain Joba was drafted by the Yankees with the 41st overall pick in the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft. The following year, he was called up to the Yankees as a starter, but since the second half of 2009 he has made his home in the bullpen as the setup man. He was the winning pitcher in Game 4 of the 2009 World Series. Rafael Soriano Soriano was signed by the Yankees as a free agent during the 2010 off-season. The closer for the Tampa Bay Rays during the 2010 season, he assumed the role as the setup man in 2011. Mariano Rivera Mariano was signed by the Yankees as an ameteur free agent in 1990. In 1995, he made his Major League debut as a starting pitcher, but found his home in the bullpen in 1996 as the setup man to then-closer John Wetteland. In 1997, he made the transition to a closer and has been the Yankees closer ever since. A 12-time All-Star and 5-time World Series champion, he is second all-time in saves to Trevor Hoffman.
