In 1995, he made his Major League debut as a starting pitcher, but found his home in the bullpen in 1996 as the setup man to then-closer John Wetteland. In 1997, he made the transition to a closer and has been the Yankees closer ever since. A 12-time All-Star and 5-time World Series champion, he is second all-time in saves to Trevor Hoffman.
