Josh Gold-Smith

Josh Gold-Smith is a sports journalist currently working as a producer and audio editor at Sports Radio The FAN 590 in Toronto. He has also worked in both the television and online departments at CBC Sports.
He began interning at the The FAN 590 in September 2007 and was hired to produce Toronto Raptors basketball broadcasts in October 2008. He will remain in the role for the balance of the season.
He graduated with honours from Humber College with an advanced broadcast journalism diploma in the spring of 2008. While at Humber, he produced the program's critically acclaimed current affairs radio program, @Humber, earning an Apple Award at the College Media Advisers conference in New York City in March 2008. He was also a producer/lineup editor/floor director for the Apple Award-winning Humber TV News and sports reporter for the Humber Et Cetera, the college's daily newspaper.
After graduating from Humber, he was recommended by radio teacher Judy Charles (a weekend producer at CBC Newsworld) for a position at the CBC Sports.ca re-write desk. The job involved writing stories for the website and re-writing wire copy as well as occasionally reporting and researching stories of his own. Later that summer, the 2008 Olympic Summer Games began and he was hired in the television department as a program assistant. At the conclusion of the Games, he returned to the online desk for several weeks before leaving to commit fully to The FAN 590.
He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Dalhousie University, which he earned in the spring of 2006. He served as a sports reporter and columnist for the Dalhousie Gazette from 2001-04.
He was a fantasy sports correspondent for ESPN.com from 2003-05, filing daily updates on the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago White Sox. The correspondent format was dropped by the website in 2005. Since then, he has written freelance columns for InsideHoops.com.
