José Luis Ricón Fernández de la Puente (born June 15, 1992) is a Spanish researcher and writer specializing in aging research, meta-science, and technological progress. He is currently the Head of Theory at Retro Biosciences and is known for his popular blog *Nintil.com*, where he explores topics ranging from economic history to science funding reform. Early life and education José Luis Ricón was born on June 15, 1992, in Spain. He earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Industrial Engineering Technologies in 2014 and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Industrial Engineering in 2015 from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. He also completed an M.Sc. in Aerospace Dynamics from Cranfield University in 2015. Career Ricón began his career as a Research Intern at ETS Ingenieros Industriales UPM, focusing on multibody systems simulation. He later worked as a Graduate Engineer at LEVC and as a Strategic Consultant in Data Science at Amey. In 2020, Ricón co-founded the Rejuvenome project under the Astera Institute. This $70 million initiative aimed to create a large-scale aging mouse atlas to advance longevity research. The project concluded in September 2022. In January 2023, he joined Retro Biosciences as Head of Theory. His *Longevity FAQ* is a widely cited resource for newcomers to the field of aging research.
