Jori Tokyo

Jori Tokyo (* April 9 1973 as Johannes Riedmann in Munich, Germany) is an artist in the fields of computer art, performance and sound art.
Life
Grown up in Regensburg Jori Tokyo worked early with experimental codes, modified home computers, algorithmic computer graphics and low bit sounds on Commodore 64, Apple II, Atari and Amiga.
2000 he entered the media art group Pomodoro Bolzano and created numerous performances and installations with Max D. Well and Christian Wittkowsky while working also as light-designer.
2005 he earned a cultural award of the city of Regensburg with Pomodoro Bolzano and also an entry in the Hamburger Ziegel. Together with Max. D. Well founding the media art studio Trendlabor which existed until 2007.
Since 2006 Jori Tokyo works intense with the possibilities of virtual performances as and the creation of digital multiples inside the 3D-environment and cyberworld of Second Life. Jori joined also the Avatar Orchestra Metaverse and created cybernetic spaces like Trendlabor, Tokyo Dollz and Virtual Haidplatz.
Lectures, workshops and performances about and around Circuit Bending, Sound Hacking and Avataristics are the actual topics of Jori Tokyos work.
