Jonathan Pampling

Jonathan Pampling is an Australian fashion designer who launched the brand Athan-Jon.
Early years
Pampling was born in Brisbane 1980 and grew up in Hervey Bay. After completing year 12 Pampling began working in conservation and planted trees to restore the Hervey Bay foreshore. Contemplating a life as a Ranger on Fraser Island Pampling opted out and worked in retail for a short time. He then began fashion studies in 2001 and he began his label Athan Jon and went on to work on fashion projects.
Current projects
Pampling designed a dress for the 2009 Miss Earth Australia candidate and The Earth Diet creator Liana Werner-Gray won People's Choice Award 2009. He also stocks a range at Principessa in the Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.
The Athan-Jon label has been worn by musicians Katie Noonan, Youth Group and The Butterfly Effect.
A Mercedes Benz Start-Up finalist 2002/2004 for Queensland, Pampling went on to become First Reserve in this years Project Runway 2 Australia making the audition for the second year running narrowly missing out after being short listed.
Athan-Jon is a label inspired by art, music, film, performance art, nature and our lives in futuristic times.
