Jonathan Leese was made a Director of the Amateur Football Alliance in May 2011. Life Leese was born in Macclesfield and attended The King's School, Macclesfield. He was awarded a BSc (Hons.) in German and Economics with International Business and Swedish from the University of Surrey before studying for qualifications in insurance and, following that, finance and investment management. He is a friend of Julian Ross and Marshall Lancaster and they are all supporters of Macclesfield Town F.C. Employment Leese went on to work for the financial database integrator FactSet, working mainly in the Netherlands before joining the niche research and equity analytics platform company StarMine, where he took the lead account management role of StarMine's largest global client, based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Voluntary Work In September 2003, Leese became the Fixtures Secretary of BB Eagles AFC and continued in this role until May 2011. In May 2007, he was elected as Chairman of BB Eagles AFC, a role he has been elected into by the membership of the club every year since. BB Eagles AFC are widely regarded as one of the most innovative and up-and-coming amateur football clubs in the country. In June 2008, Leese was asked to become Treasurer of the Southern Amateur Football League (SAL), one of the largest amateur leagues in Europe. Under his financial leadership, the SAL has moved to a much stronger financial position. As a consequence, he was invited to become one of the SAL's representatives on the Council of the Amateur Football Alliance in June 2010. In May 2011, Leese was made a Director of the Board of the Amateur Football Alliance.
