Jon Main

Jon Main (born 7 March, 1981 in Erith) is an English footballer. He currently plays for AFC Wimbledon in the Isthmian League Premier Division, after previously being with Tonbridge Angels, Cray Wanderers and VCD Athletic.

Early Life and Start of Career
Jon Main began his career with several local youth teams in his home area of Erith in Kent. His first semi-professional club was VCD Athletic, before joining Cray Wanderers FC where he helped to lift the side out of the Kent League. The following season he scored 16 goals in just under 20 games before being signed for Tonbridge Angels. On the 14 November 2007 he signed for A.F.C. Wimbledon.

Tonbridge Angels
Jon Main signed for the Angels in January 2006, scoring only three goals in the remainder of the league season. He then went on to score two goals in the play-offs to help the Angels gain promotion to the Premier Division.

Main signed a contract for the 2006-07 season in which he scored 44 goals in all competitions, a Club record. This included 7 hat-tricks, which equalled the Club's record for hat-tricks in a career. In the spring he had trials at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Swindon Town and Milton Keynes Dons.

Jon Main was offered second trials with both MK Dons and Swindon Town for July but turned them down to sign a one-year contract extension with Tonbridge Angels.

Despite the team struggling in the bottom half of the Premier Division, Main scored 20 goals before signing for AFC Wimbledon in November 2007 for an undisclosed fee.
