Jolly Holly

Jolly Holly is a 2009 American animated internet special directed by Trevor Von Klueg, Joe Lara, Louis Pieper, and A.J. Lara. It is an original spec script written for the 2009 FOX-AniBOOM Holiday Challenge. The story begins with bad press driving Santa into early retirement so he holds a competition to see who among his minioms will take his place.
The story features five main characters: Santa, Noel, Holy, Prixon, and Tannenbaum and the story revolves around the competition, the training montage, and the final round where Santa's successor is selected.
Jolly Holly is a production created by Gaming, Animation, and fX Club (GAX Club). The GAX Club is part of SMC's Academy of Entertainment and Technology.
Plot
Jolly Holly begins in the North Pole where Santa Claus is reading gossip magazines that feature unflattering pictures of Santa. Bad press combined with Mrs. Claus' request prompts Santa into retirement. Santa then informs his minions that he is holding a contest, the Santa Contest Santa Made Up (S.C.S.M.U.), and that he will see them all the following day.
The news shocks his minions and the main characters (Noel, Holy, Prixon, and Tannenbaum) discuss the possible consequences and the necessity of training for the competition. A training montage featuring boxing, fencing and more demonstrates the abilities of some of the competitors and is followed by an announcer discussing the competition's format of 500 brutal challenges. After the challenges, the final round takes place where the final four must complete one last task.
Voice Cast
* Trevor Von Klueg as Santa Claus. Santa is an eccentric that's had enough of the media.
* A.J. Lara as Noel. Noel is a bit of a simpleton and wants to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming Santa.
* Mari Levitan as Holly. Holly is a pragmatist and trains with Noel for the chance to become Santa.
* Joe Lara as Prixon. Prixon is a talking reindeer that worries that his lack of thumbs may be a hindrance to his aspirations to become Santa.
* Louis Pieper as Tannenbaum. Tannenbaum is a bully that will do whatever it takes to become the next Santa.
* Other voices: Mari Levitan as Mrs. Claus and A.J. Lara as the Announcer.
