Johnny Zhivago were a British punk rock band, that took their name from a fictitious band mentioned in the book (and also film) A Clockwork Orange. Heaven 17 were another band whose name originated in A Clockwork Orange. Origins The quartet came together in Essex, England in late 1999. Signing to London-based Infernal Records in 2000, they released their debut EP Terminal Boredom in the autumn of that year. Their debut album Some Of The People, All Of The Time, appeared in late 2001. Johnny Zhivago toured the UK and Europe extensively, supporting acts such as The Wildhearts, 3 Colours Red, The Icarus Line, and Backyard Babies, before going their separate ways in late 2002. As well, from the early 1980s, Miami Florida USA based multimedia artist Edward Bobb, of Happiness Boys fame, performed as Johnny Zhivago- utilizing the name whenever he played guitar in public- through the 80's and 90's and into the mid 2000s.
