John Zuur Platten is an American video game script writer and author. He lives in Burbank, California. Platten has had a successful career working alone and in conjunction with others. His most productive collaboration is with Flint Dille. Together, they were the first to sell a game design document as a feature film, Venom, which they subsequently produced. Platten co-authored a book on game design with Dille, entitled, The Ultimate Guide to Video Game Writing and Design. The book became a best seller in Amazon's "Audio and Video Editing," "Authorship," and "Game Programming" categories. Following the success of their book, Platten and Dille formed the Bureau of Film and Games.
