John Wayne Marina is located on Strait of Juan de Fuca, in Sequim Bay.The marina is a public marina with an accessible pumpout. John Wayne Marina was constructed in 1985 on 22 acres of land donated by the John Wayne family. Today, the marina features permanent and guest moorage, excellent marine services, a restaurant, showers, laundry and banquet facilities, and provides boat launch ramps, fuel facilities, public beach access and picnic areas.
Facilities Permanent and transient moorage is available. Moorage slips are assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis. Power and water are easily accessible. The fuel dock dispenses gas, diesel, and oils. Restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, dump station, and waste pump-out are on-site. Towing can be arranged. Other amenities include a restaurant and grocery. Provisions, charts, gifts, souvenirs, ice, and charters are accessible. Nearby attractions include golf courses, lodging, a casino, airport, state park, and marine repairs.
Attractively landscaped picnic areas are provided, and shellfish harvesting is possible along the beach. The main building has a social center with banquet rooms and a dance floor for public use. This is becoming popular with yacht clubs for rendezvous parties and cruise destinations. If arriving by car with a trailerable boat, there is paved parking for cars and trailers, and an excellent launch ramp. The marina is only three miles from the community of Sequim. .
Marine Services A slip is available for pumpout usage. There is a stationary pumpout. The stationary pumpout is located on the fuel dock. Gasoline and diesel fuel can be purchased on site. There is a boat launch available for a fee. Over night moorage is available for a fee. The guest dock is 160 feet in length. The total estimated guest boat capacity is 40. Electrical hook up is available for a fee. Electrical power is available in 20 and 30 amps. It has been reported the minimum depth at mean low tide is 15.
