John Vervaeke, Ph.D. is a cognitive scientist, psychologist and buddhist psychologist currently at the University of Toronto. His research interests include the cognitive science of relevance realization, the nature of general intelligence, the nature of consciousness, the psychology and nature of wisdom, rationality, insight problem solving, conceptual metaphor, the methodology of theoretical psychology, and the growing confluence between cognitive science, neuroscience, and Buddhism. He has won numerous teaching awards and is one of three lecturers considered "life-changing" at the University of Toronto St. George campus. He also teaches tai chi and meditation coinciding with his course on "The Science of Mindfulness".
