John Streicker

John Streicker is a Canadian engineer, environmentalist, writer, and politician. He is a well known local politician most notably on matters relating to climate warming and the participant for Yukon for the 4th IPCC Report. He was the Yukon for the Green Party of Canada at the Canadian federal election, 2008, as well as for the upcoming May 2011 federal election.
Background

Streicker became a resident of Yukon in the mid 1990s and presently lives in Marsh Lake.
He received his B.Sc. in Computational Science & Geography from the University of Saskatchewan in 1986 and his M.SC.Eng. in Geodesy & Geomatics Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in 1990.
In 2004 he headed up the Northern Climate ExChange at Yukon College.
Streicker is an active volunteer and in 2007 he received Yukon's Community Recreation Leadership Award.
