My page JOHN RAMIREZ was deleted in the past and now I am attempting to add again my information. The only 'IMPORTANCE' that I can perceive to have some 'SIGNIFICANCE' is that founding member of La_Fiebre Ricardo 'Ricky' Garza at the age of 14 did play drums n my group and remained in my group until disbanding 1979. Ricky would later play drums on my 1984 cd release titles PEOPLE Produced by John Ramirez. Solo album. In 1883, with both founding members of LA FIEBRE, Rudy Roacha and Ricky Garza I would help them on bass guitar. Their intention were to form a Rock Band once a permanent bass player could be found. At this time my work on the PEOPLE was in the making in the recording studio and I was rehearsing with Ricky and Rudy on my available time. I was confronted by Ricky and Rudy to consider playing a a member of their group and we would be a three piece. My position in the band was bass player/ lead vocalist. A Rush type format. Maybe if I had not invested so much into my current work that I was doing in the studio at thetime I would have joined as thier bass player/ lead singer-and we really all got along fine but, I decline to the disappointment of Ricky and Rudy. My agreement stood to assist them with rehearsals until a permanent bass player was place but, that would never happen. What is now LA FIEBRE in 1883 was the rock band that came to be and later decide to play instead TEX-MEX latin. Rudy Roacha and I are childhood neighbors. Note: anyway that may help to give me some chance of getting myself on WICKEPEDIA the best source for info on the web. dont know how to upload a photos Thank you John Ramirez Here is what I have at this time: John Ramirez is born in Corpus Christi, Texas June 5, 1958 to Latin musician/ singer Juan Thomas Ramirez and Teodora Pantaleon Guerrero. The 6th youngest of three boys and nine girls. The Ramirez fanily moved to Houston Texas at age five Houston. His mother and father were Baptist Pastors and later Pentecostal Pastors. In his youth, Juan was a guitarist in Corpus Christi and singer entertainer. His marriage to Teodora would force him to take on a more stable work and leave his chances of entertaining aside and would become a Baptist minister. John began playing the drums at the age of nine. He would use toothbrushes as he played along with songs by the Beatles and other popular groups of the late sixties. At the age of 13 his father bought John a drum kit. At the early age of 10, John father took him to Woolworth and let him pick the toy he wanted. 'I remember there was a life size soldier drum high above on the shelve and I picked it. The skins were cardboard so it lasted me only for a while' . As a experienced drummer John acclimated well to his three years in school band in the percussion section. Remaining in the 6th grade but moving to the 8th grade his 7th and 8th year. At 16 and now living in Pasadena Texas, John started playing the guitar and some musician neighborhood friends of and on would get together and play music by The Rolling Stones, Stephen Wolf, Bad Company, BTO and other popular rock groups. 'The equipment was old but we didn't know any better we just played..neighborhood friends would come over to listen'. Later in 1976, a 13 year old [ Ricardo 'Ricky' Garza Jr. who would later become the co-founder of the Tex Mex Latino group LA FIEBRE impressed John with his dedication to learn to play his new drums and with Johnny Guiterrez , a neighborhood kid bass player would form John's first official group. But it was mainly just house parties where they would play. John began getting more involved in his fathers ministry and would cause the group to be short lived when John would convert to Christianity. It was a disappointment to the member Johnny and Ricky . John would o on to form THE BETTER PLACE GOSPEL GROUP and with co-founder of THE BETTER PLACE, Jimmy Leal they would produce the album titled THE BETTER PLACE in 1979. Appearing in local religiouse venues and making several appearances at Correctional Centers it was the only album that the group would release and John returned to doing secular music. This would lead John to write the tracks for PEOPLE, his 1984 secular album. For the next twenty-five years personnel family affairs and John's tumultuous relationships would prevent him from launching any music projects. He did manage to put together in 1992 rehearsal that led to his performance of PIG ON THE RUN at the Miller Theater in Houston, Texas. In 2005 John released the 25th Commemorative album cd. It contained some tracks from the 1984 POEOPLE album and all the tracks from the 1979, THE BETTER PLACE GOSPEL GROUP. John shelved the album and did not promote it. In 2010, John accepted a contract to make an appearance at WAREHOUSE LIVE in Houston Texas. Without a group , John contacted musicians he recently new thru his sister Connie, who had these musicians play at her CYBER CAFE MEXICAN in Spring Texas. Thru those musicians other musicians became aware of John's predicament and the matter was solved. A group was formed with the name JOHN RAMIREZ. The performance was a success. Currently now the group is preparing for a tour and look foreward to releasing dates and locations for JOHN RAMIREZ "IM NOT THE PEEK_O_BOO MAN TOUR' . ================================= Rodela records Rodela Ramirez entertainment www.rodelarecords.com www.ramirezjohn.com
