John Craig is an American indie pop artist based in Portland, Oregon. Career Craig's solo project "John Craig & The Weekend" was formed in Portland in 2009. Craig gained notoriety in the Portland music scene for his 2009 single "Soon" which was featured in the motion picture Tucker & Dale vs. Evil along with "Trouble." Craig's debut Umlaut EP garnered industry buzz thanks in part to reviews by , Rob Cullivan of the , and Andy Valentine of Eugene Weekly. "Ticking" has also been prominently featured on Portland's 94.7 KNRK and 101.9 KINK. Craigs's song "Ticking" was also tapped by Tommy Hilfiger as the music for their online and in-store ad campaign called "Meet The Hilfigers." The campaign began in August 2010 and ran through August 2011. In April 2010 John Craig was the featured musical guest on KOIN 6 . A clip from the in-studio performance can be seen on www.koinlocal6.com. On June 8, 2010, Craig released dual-singles Ghosts with b-side The Fall Out and Broken Branches exclusively on iTunes. The singles were released for wide reaching digital distribution in July 2010. Craig debuted an acoustic version of "Broken Branches" on Eugene's 91.9 KRVM on April 9, 2010 along with an acoustic version of "Promises" off of 2009's Umlaut EP. KRVM also has the distinction of being the first radio station to air both "Ghosts" and "The Fall Out" on KRVM. John Craig & The Weekend's debut full-length, Numbers, was recorded in early-2011 at Cloud City Studios in Portland. The album was co-produced, engineered and mixed by Craig and Justin Phelps. The LP was released on Loophole Records on August 30, 2011.
