John Chiminski is an American engineer and business executive. Since 2009 he is the CEO of the pharmaceutical manufacturer Catalent. Under Chiminski's leadership Catalent became a publicly traded company in July 2014. From 2007 to 2009, Chiminski was the President and CEO of General Electric Medical Diagnostics after serving in various engineering, operations and management roles in GE Healthcare for over 20 years. In June 2020, Chiminski announced a deal to manufacture at least 100 million doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. As of December 2020, Catalent has been producing daily about 500,0000 doses of the vaccine at its biologics facility in Bloomington, Indiana. Education John Chiminski received a BS in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University in 1986, an M.S. from Purdue University School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1987 an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 1996.
