Joe Beast

Joe Beast (born 1982), better known by the stage name Joe Beast, is an American rapper based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Biography
Childhood
Joe Beast was born in Pittsburgh. He was raised in one of the toughest neighborhoods in the Pittsburgh area, the Hill District. Joe Beast hails from the Robinson Court section of Pittsburgh, better know as RCG. Although the area has been razed for future development Beast still has RCG in his blood. He also has a younger brother who is involved also in the music business. Joe Beast attendend Schenley High School but did not graduate. Some of the musical influences to Beast has been Jay-Z, Tupac, and the Dr Dre. From his time out in California with Aftermath Records, Beast learned from the great minds of people like Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, and Emenim.



Career
Beast grew up in the neighborhood(The Hill District), that produce Mel- Man, who has been an Aftermath artist/producer for better then the last decade. Mel- Man who was active in the Pittsburgh music scene set up an meeting between Joe Beast and other local artist to go to California to meet with Dr. Dre. Of the who went out there, Joe Beast, Young, Roe, Infinite, etc Beast was the only one who got a contract. Beast quickly got to work by getting on The Wash and 8 Mile soundtracks. He also put out several mixtape tracks to a slew of mixtape Djs. Beast was the focus of Dre until the Game came along. Beast and the game had numerous tracks done and were competing to be the first to drop and alblum on the label which has been known for never putting out material.
In 2002 when 50 Cent came to the label it was clear that Beast was no longer a priority as all the attention was giving to an up and coming underground artist, 50, who had the streets hungary for an alblum. During his time in L.A. alot of material was recorded with the likes of 50 Cent, Game, Snoop, Ed Liva (ReUp gang) Dre, E-40, etc. Beast was dropped from the label along with a few others in 2004. The same year he dropped the mixtape which was name 14 grams. Since then he has been busy in Pittsburgh creating music waiting for another opportunity. In 2007 Beast won an award from the Pittsburgh Hip Hop Awards for "Mixtape of The Year". Over the years Beast has shared the stage with the likes of 50 Cent, Young Buck, Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Busta Ryhmes, The Game, Mel-Man, Snoop Dogg and countless others just to name a few. In 2006, Joe Beast release the first in a series of mixtapes called In The Hood, Cause Um Hood Vol 1( Hosted By DJ Schizo)which sold thousands of copies locally. The follow up was released in December 2007, In The Hood, Cause Um Hood Vol.2( Hosted by DJ Schizo) to critical acclaim.
