History
Jonathan 'Jock' James converted to Christianity at the age of 16. He later moved to Bradford to go to university to study environmental sciences; here, he began to attend the Abundant Life Church. After graduation, he worked in the water industry in environmental law before joining the church young people's ministry to work alongside Steve Gambill (Youthpastor & founder of Rocknations) in 2002. He has spoken in the past of sitting in his office doing some menial task while dreaming of doing the job he now does. He has since been involved in leading the Edge ministry for 14 to 18 year olds and heading up the music department (RPM) at Rocknations, the church's youth ministry. He is married to Shirley, who also is employed at the Abundant Life Church as Charlotte Scanlon-Gambill's personal assistant.

Songs written or co-written by James include:
* "Put Your Hands Up", RPM's signature tune
