Jo Webber is originally from London, England, now living in the Los Angeles area. She is the CEO and founder of Virtual Piggy. Jo Webber holds a Ph.D. in Quantum Mechanics, and is a Chartered Chemist and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Webber's academic career includes research on thienopyridine isomers, publicized in the Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM. Professional career Webber founded Virtual Piggy, and currently serves as its CEO. The company provides a fully COPPA compliant online payment option to merchants, allowing them to safely accept payments from teens and tweens. Webber has appeared on numerous outlets to promote Oink from Virtual Piggy, including WJLA-TV's Let's Talk Live, Fox News Live and the Finovate conference. In October Jo Webber appeared with Emmy Award winning actress Sela Ward on MSNBC's Morning Joe She also served as CEO and as a member of the board of directors of Energy Solutions International Inc., a provider of complex software solutions for the world's major energy companies. Prior to her time at Energy Solutions International Inc., Webber served as CEO of InnaPhase Corporation, a provider of enterprise-class software solutions to the global pharmaceutical industry. Under her management, the company was restructured and returned to profitability, and acquired a division of Beckman Coulter. The growth was attributed in part to the introduction of a new software application, which was aimed at the manufacturing centers of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies. Following the software's release and success, Webber led the acquisition of InnaPhase by Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2004. Following the acquisition, Webber served as a Vice President and General Manager of Informatics for Thermo Fisher. Jo Webber was featured in articles and interviews Board positions Jo Webber has served on the boards of multiple private and public companies including Octagon Research Systems until its successful acquisition by Accenture in 2012. She also served on the board of Maxwell Systems a leading construction software company located in King of Prussia, PA until it was acquired by Viewpoint in 2014. Dr Webber also serves on the board of the not for profit organization Let Go... Let Peace Come In Foundation. Other Jo Webber received a Lifetime Achievement award in the 2013 Golden Bridge Awards and was the recipient of a Silver Stevie® Award for Woman of the Year in Technology, Business Services & Financial Services in the 2014 Stevie Women in Business Awards.
