JF1 short for Jose Agustin Fuertes (born April 13, 1986) in Boston, Massachusetts known professionally as JF1 and JF1 "El Tigre" is a Dominican American singer-songwritter and Bachata Musician. At the early age of 6, JF1 took an interest in music and into his teenage years, began experimenting with music after his dream of a baseball career came to an end due to an ankle fracture. JF1 traveled to New York on vacation to visit relatives in the bronx and ended up staying to pursue Music. He later then met a record executive from Impresario Music Group who then signed him to the label after hearing him sing. JF1 is also known for mixing the genres of Bachata and Reggaeton and is considered to be one of the Top 5 Bachata solo artists in the world. Early Life JF1 was born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in the Dominican Republic in the city of Santo Domingo. He traveled to New York at age 20 and was discovered while standing in line at a Univision casting call for singers where he did not get the chance to audition for not having proper ID. While standing in line at that audition he was discovered by an A&R from Impresario Music Group and was later signed to Impresario Music Group where he began his recording career. He started singing at age 6 and his Aunt the widow of a Merengue musician encouraged him to pursue music.
