Jesse Torres

Jesse Torres, CISSP, CISA, CIA[http://en. .org/wiki/Certified_Internal_Auditor#Certified_Internal_Auditor_.28CIA.29] is a bank turnaround professional and one of a small number of Hispanic bank presidents. He has written many e-books and articles and is considered a unique asset within the Los Angeles banking community. Notwithstanding his expertise in successfully managing and resolving formal and informal regulatory actions such as consent orders to cease and desist, memorandums of understanding and other regulatory documents, Mr. Torres is also highly praised for his work relative to Hispanic marketing, social media marketing and anti-money laundering as well as his focus on community service.
Career
Jesse has spent nearly 20 years in leadership and executive management positions in risk management, internal audit, regulatory compliance, operations, information technology and marketing. Jesse began his career as a bank examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency ("OCC") and then as a Senior Consultant for KPMG’s financial services practice. Recently, Jesse has held executive management positions in several financial institutions from $250 million in asset size to over $6 billion.
Jesse has developed an expertise in crisis management, assisting financial institutions through the management and resolution of informal and formal regulatory actions. Jesse has successfully developed and implemented extensive enterprise-wide internal control systems. He has negotiated and implemented core processing systems as well as flagged debit card programs. Jesse is considered an expert in matters related to anti-money laundering and has taught at the FFIEC's Advanced Anti-Money Laundering School in Arlington, Virginia. Jesse has experience in improving efficiency ratios through revenue-enhancement and cost reduction strategies.

Jesse is frequently featured in industry conferences and is often interviewed by industry publications, including American Banker, Bank Technology News Magazine, U.S. Banker Magazine and Risk Management Magazine. He holds a B.A. from UCLA and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School. He has also received a number of certifications, including Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Community Service
Jesse has been a lifelong volunteer. From the time youth he was a youth at Don Bosco Technical Institute in Rosemead, California to his time as a college student at UCLA to the present day. Jesse has always made it a priority to assist in causes that better the community.
In recent years Jesse has acted as volunteer and board member of the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce, whose mission is to serve at-risk youth. With the LAJCC, Jesse has served not only as a board member, but also as the longstanding soccer tournament chairman of the LAJCC's L.A. Watts Summer Games.
Jesse has also volunteered many hours providing financial literacy training to middle- and high school youth as an individual and through organizations such as Operation Hope.
