Jesse Lesniowski

Jesse Lesniowski is an environmental, and hidden disabilities activist. His drag persona Saltina Shaker is popular on the social media platforms Instagram and TikTok.
Early life and education
He received a B.S. in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Geochemistry and Ecotoxicity from the University of Ottawa in 2020 and is currently pursuing a Master's/PhD in Environmental Sustainability at that same institution.
Activism
In 2011, Jesse was involved in a highway accident and suffered severe organ damage, requiring surgeries and months of hospitalization in Kingston. He credits seeing the campus of from his hospital window as motivation that “if I managed to go to university, then maybe I could live a normal life.” She currently has 1.5 million followers on TikTok and 187K on Instagram.
Saltina also supports her local drag scene. She was crowned the 2021 pick for “Mrs. Capital Pride” by Ottawa's Capital Pride organization.
Regarding the importance of drag, Saltina said, “Drag is first and foremost an art form. It’s anything that other people of all ethnicities, physical abilities, gender identities and sexual orientations can use to express who they are outside of themselves.”
