Jess C Scott

Jess C Scott (born 1986, in Singapore) is a fiction writer working in a diverse range of genres, such as erotica, young adult fiction, and urban fantasy (including elfpunk and cyberpunk).
As a creative professional, Jess experiments with a variety of genres and styles to produce work which stands out from "the same old re-packaged mass-market pulp" .
Biography
Jess graduated from Adams State College in 2006 with an associate's degree in arts. As of October 2010, she is an English/Business senior enrolled in the same university. She spent the first half of 2008 garnering upwards of five hundred rejections for her debut blog/IM novel, before engaging the interest of a YA acquisitions editor at Flux (publisher) . She continued to query agents and editors when the Flux editor left for another publishing house, after a six-month discussion.
In 2009, frustrated with content restrictions of the mainstream publishing industry, she decided to publish her creative and innovative work independently. Her books and stories are now available in eBook formats, and her longer novel-length works are available as print books. EyeLeash: A Blog Novel came in third place 2009 P&E's Poll "Best Print/Electronic YA Book published in 2009".
She worked as a research assistant intern to award-winning journalist Meredith Maran, for the 2010 publication, My Lie, published by Jossey-Bass.
Jess is currently working on a multicultural YA seven deadly sins series. She is also getting ready to launch the first book in an urban fantasy series featuring cyberpunk elves.
Jess's books are known for their authenticity and originality. According to a publicity intern at an NYC publishing house:

" a creative writer. . .and the creator of her covers. With beautiful artwork and cool plots, she is a triple threat" .

features free downloads, including links to her published material online, and her writing manifesto.
Jess is an advocate of the Amazon Kindle and eBooks. In 2010, she published a 35-page professional advertising plan on the opportunities that independent publishing offers, which traditional publishing does not .
