Jermaine Whitehead

Jermaine Whitehead (born March 12, 1993) is an American football strong safety for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He has also played for the Baltimore Ravens. He played college football at Auburn University.
College career
Whitehead played for the Auburn Tigers from 2011 to 2015. As a senior in 2015, he played in the first 7 games of the season as the Tiger's starting strong safety. After getting into an argument with Auburn's secondary coach, Charlie Habinson, he was suspended for the next 4 games. Once he returned, he spent the rest of his senior season playing solely on special teams. He finished his senior year with 218 tackles and 9 interceptions.
Professional career
NFL draft
Although Whitehead was one of the top safties in his draft class, he was projected to go undrafted.
San Francisco 49ers
After going undrafted during the 2015 NFL Draft, he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Francisco 49ers on May 5, 2015. Whitehead was one of the last players cut by the 49ers was re-signed the next day to their practice squad. He spent the first 14 games of the regular season on the practice squad.
Baltimore Ravens
On December 23, 2015, the Baltimore Ravens signed Whitehead from the 49ers' practice squad.
