Jeremy Mauney

Jeremy Mauney (born September 19, 1982) is an American writer, artist and musician who is most noted for his work as an assistant illustrator in Tokyo, Japan for the Japanese serial comic (manga) Fist of the Blue Sky, from 2005-2006. He is also the founding member of an "interdimensional conspiracy" themed band called NUTRITION.
Biography

In 2005, Jeremy became one of the first Americans to apprentice in Japan as a full-time assistant illustrator on a popular serialized Japanese manga.
He was personally trained by Tetsuo Hara and his staff for several months before contributing heavily to Fist of the Blue Sky. He worked and contributed to the manga series from 2005-2006 which included Fist of the Blue Sky volumes 13, 14 and 15.
Jeremy also collaborated on an American comic series called Black Forest of the Sleeping Giant, with The Spectacular Spider-Man and Gun Fu illustrator Joey Mason.
After spending three years living and working around Tokyo, Jeremy moved back to his hometown of Lexington, Kentucky with his wife. In 2009 Jeremy wrote and illustrated a short comic biography about his experiences working as a manga assistant called Jeremy, Japan and the Giant Monsters.
In early 2009 he also founded the experimental black metal duo, NUTRITION.
