Jeremy Jahns (born May 8, 1980) is an American film critic, game critic, television critic, podcaster, blogger, internet host, entrepreneur, comedian, creative director, screenwriter, online producer, actor, editor, and self-promoter. He is a critic on YouTube. Jeremy first joined YouTube after he saw Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009 and wanted to express how much he disliked the film. He created the username MovieMan191 on YouTube and that began his Internet following. He eventually created a new channel with his actual name and transferred over there, since he didn't think the name "MovieMan191" would work for his type of videos and found it limiting. Since then, he has uploaded all main content solely to his Jahns channel, and the only video he ever added to MovieMan191 since departing was a Star Wars: The Old Republic montage video (so he could avoid copyright complaints). While primarily a movie reviewer, Jahns has also reviewed television series such as , Firefly, Dexter and Breaking Bad as well as video games and trailers and had created 700 videos as of October 2013. He has reviewed older movies such as the original Star Wars trilogy, , Marvel films and the Batman films. He named Inception, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, The Dark Knight Rises and Gravity as his favorite films of 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 respectively, while naming Legion, Jack and Jill, Silent Hill: Revelation and After Earth the worst films of their respective years. Jahns' current channel 'JeremyJahns' has over 600,000 YouTube subscribers, and over 130 million views and is the 561st most popular channel on YouTube as of January 2014. Format Jahns started out on his YouTube channel "movieman191", starting with a review of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. He eventually left this channel and moved to his new channel, "JeremyJahns", where he has posted reviews ever since. Jahns' style is relaxed and humorous. He speaks direct-to-camera and makes frequent use of jump cuts. His videos typically have a red background. On August 17, 2010, he created his own rating system in honor of his 100th video. The ratings from highest to lowest are, "Awesometacular", "Buy It On Blu-Ray", "A Good Time, No Alcohol Required", "It's All Right, But You Won't Remember It In T-(Some Amount of Time)","A good time if you're Drunk, and "Dogshit". Though "A good time if you're drunk" and "t-" seem to be interchangeable. He also has an unofficial Rating called "Tour de Force" referring to movies thought to be good but he didn't personally enjoy. Aside from reviewing on YouTube, Jahns has been involved in other activities and contributions. Since 2010, he's attended PAX Prime where he covers gaming news and information, including interviews with David Gaider, Ed Boon, and Erik Wolpaw. He's collaborated on several occasions with YouTube reviewers Schmoes Know and Chris Stuckmann, and with them founded the Youreviewers Movie Awards, an online award show that honors the best of the year in film, which has been going on since 2011. In 2013, Jahns interviewed actors Clark Gregg and Nathan Fillion about the new film that they starred in, Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing. In 2014, after the death of Robin Williams, Jahns reviewed the film Aladdin in memory of the actor, and explained in the video that all the money that is made through his AdSense account he would donate to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America.
