JenniferDeejay (Born Jennifer Lynn Mynhier on November 10, 1979, USA) is a music producer and DJ. Jennifer founded My Journey Records in 1997 in the United States and produces music for other artist’s as well as herself. Jennifer’s biggest hit so far is Canon a remake of Johann Pachelbel a southern German composer. Canon (released on Love Everlasting 2006) made it to number 201 on the European Dance music charts. Jennifer has had other well known songs such as “StarMate”, “Love Everlasting” and “Sky Beam”. Before changing her name to JenniferDeejay she was known underground as DJ Saturn. The name JenniferDeejay was a mistake by Jennifer caught to late. After signing a deal with an entertainmentcompany it would be ten weeks later that she realized her chosen stage name did not have a space between Jennifer and Deejay, making her name one word.

Music

JenniferDeejay’s music can be in many different genres from Dance to Rock and roll. Most of her music is dance music inspired by many early 90's dance artist’s. Jennifer conveys a vast number of different instruments in her music. She studied piano since the age of six and guitar since age twelve. Which gives her the ability to produce such magnificent musical compositions.

Early life

Jennifer was born in the Appalachian Mountains in Kentucky. Growing up in a poor region of North America she defied the odds. Jennifer is Italian/German in heritage and is a part of a big family. Jennifer’s mother Arvilla had seven children Jennifer being the third born. The family was naturally talented nearly every member of Jennifer’s family is musically inclined in some way or another. Jennifer became a recurring member of school choir in every grade from Junior High throughout. She also attended church just to sing in choir there as well. Jennifer wrote and preformed her first song in church at age five. The congregation requested her to sing every Sunday.

Career

In 1995 Jennifer was a competitor in the all state music competition in Kentucky. After a grueling few weeks singing against other singers, Jennifer won first place as best solo artist in the State. Jennifer sang “Love is Here” by Des’ree. In 1996 Jennifer returned to compete again in the Kentucky all state music competition She performed “Un-break my heart” by Toni Braxton and won yet again best solo artist. Also in 1996 Jennifer rented studio time and recorded her first unreleased album entitled “Hugs and Kisses” She paid for her studio time by babysitting for the owner of the studio. In 1997 Jennifer Recorded her second unreleased album “Paranormal” Paranormal was an instrumental album She recorded Paranormal in her bedroom with her computer and keyboard. She began writing music for other artist’s and wanted to learn everything she could about the business. Jennifer founded My Journey Records in 1997 which was known as Moonray Records at the time. Being a label owner and acquiring her license from ASCAP she set out on a quest for club stardom. In 1999 Jennifer completed her third unreleased album entitled “Dream World” She went around doing local performances and gaining fans in her hometown. In 2001 Jennifer recorded her forth studio album and this time she worked to get it published. The album was entitled “Red Zone” Red zone was recorded in her basement as she had to much music equipment to continue recording in her bedroom. Then came JenniferDeejay’s big breakthrough that she had been waiting on. In 2003 Jennifer went back into the studio to record a fifth album. This time she experimented with re-mixing. “Lap Dance” was her first released album and contained a version of “Canon”. Jennifer re-mixed Evanescence’s “Hello”. She arranged a club version of Hello and a Hip Hop version of the song as well. In 2003 Jennifer founded A’ Deja Vu entertainment in the U.S. She set out to find new and upcoming talent from all over the United States. After all her searching she decided to set her efforts aside and record a different kind of Club music. More of a soft melody. Jennifer’s trance endeavor began in 2005 with an album entitled “Movements” which was later renamed “ Love Everlasting” She set out to record “Love Everlasting” Which would later be her first official worldwide release. Love Everlasting Released in May of 2006 to all major digital retailers. “Canon” was featured on Love Everlasting and became Jennifer’s signature track. Canon was widely popular in Japan followed by Europe. Reaching number 201 on the European Dance music Charts. “StarMate” Which was Jennifer’s first Single from Love Everlasting was recruited by Grey Goose Vodka company for their theme song for advertisements in the U.S. and Canada. StarMate was used by Grey Goose Vodka for six months on commercials on national TV. Later that year She had to copyright the “Movements” album as it was slightly different from its sister album “Love Everlasting” Movements contained a few extra tracks “The Halloween Theme - Techno version” and “Farris Wheel” Both tracks have never been heard or published. In March of 2007 Jennifer performed “Love Everlasting” and “Sky Beam” on Morehead State University Television. CAPCOM purchased partnership rights to the bulk of Love Everlasting to use for its PS3 video gaming console. Love everlasting later would reach number 1 on the MySpace Trance top 100 and remained there for 34 straight weeks.. In August 2007 She began producing a record for her brother Daniel a.k.a Bishop entitled “North of Eden” Daniel’s record was her first full production for an artist signed to her label other than herself writing all lyrics and music. Jennifer’s final instrumental album “Envisage” Released November 10th 2007 following her “Discovery” single on August 1st 2007 which sold over four thousand copies in its first week. Jennifer plans to retire from her instrumental music career at the end of 2008 she will only produce vocal albums from now on. She is currently working on a vocal album set to release in 2010.

Personal life

Jennifer is an animal rights activist and owns two beagle hounds, a fox hound and a mixed breed of beagle and jack Russell. She married her high school sweetheart Brent Barnette on June 4th 2005. Her wedding was outdoors on their beautiful farm in eastern Kentucky. Jennifer respects all styles of music from country to heavy metal. She loves to take long walks in the Daniel Boon National Forest which her home sits in the middle of. Jennifer loves the outdoors and writes most of her songs while on a hike or just a stroll near Cave Run Lake. She enjoys cooking and wrote a cookbook entitled “Jenny’s Kitchen” which featured old family recipes and recipes that she invented. Jennifer is an avid collector of teddy bears.
