Jeffrey Vinokur

Jeffrey Vinokur also known as the Dancing Mad Scientist is an American scientist and Hip Hop dancer best known for his appearance on America's Got Talent, Season 5. Vinokur is alternatively known by his YouTube persona TheRussianTiger, who has logged over 7 Million YouTube views.
America's Got Talent appearance
Vinokur appeared on America's Got Talent, Season 5 during episodes 508, 511, and 512 as the Dancing Mad Scientist. He performed chemistry demonstrations while dancing the style of popping at the Chicago auditions and advanced as part of the Top 100 acts to Las Vegas.
In Las Vegas he competed in the Novelty act category and was eliminated before reaching the Top 48 acts. Vinokur is featured in the "Auditions That Pop" segment of episode 508 (June 23, 2010), the airplane scene of episode 511 (July 6, 2010) and his Las Vegas performance on episode 512 (July 7, 2010).
Dance career
In 2007, Vinokur formed the YouTube account TheRussianTiger and began learning the dance style of popping, posting videos to doument his progress. As of 2010, his YouTube account has logged over 7 Million YouTube views with the main attraction being his tutorials and performances.
Vinokur teaches dance weekly at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in his student organization, Freestyle Funk Sessions, for which he won the UW-Madison Outstanding Freshman Award in 2008. Additionally he co-founded Rhythm Per Second Dance Crew and hosts the Madison Dance Conference.
In 2010 Vinokur released two Instructional Popping DVDs for which we was awarded the Wiscontrepreneur Scholarship by the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Science career
Currently Vinokur is a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and conducts biofuels research at the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center. In 2007 Vinokur has published the DNA sequence of Brine Shrimp p22 Calcium Binding protein to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, and in 2008 was credited with the acknowledgments of a Chlorobium Photosynthesis publication from the lab of photosynthesis researcher John H. Golbeck.
In 2009 Vinokur was chosen as one of sixteen undergraduate students chosen to represent the university's 40,000 students. His interview, photos, and accomplishments are displayed on the UW-Madison Admissions homepage.
