Jayden Thai

Jayden Thai is a second-generation, Vietnamese American, queer and transgender activist and advocate. Jayden was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, after his parents fled from the Vietnam War as refugees.
Jayden earned his Masters in Education in Counseling Psychology from University of Louisville and is currently pursuing his doctorate degree. His research, the Kentucky Trans Health Project, is focused on assessing the barriers to health care access that transgender individuals face in Kentucky.
Activism
Jayden is the founder of transAPIvoices, a YouTube channel that features stories of transgender Asian and Pacific Islander people. He also serves on the Board of the National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance. In 2013, he was the keynote speaker for the API Issues Conference.
Jayden’s activism sparked when he first attended the Philadelphia Trans Health Conference and the National Queer Asian and Pacific Islander (NQAPIA) Conference in 2012, where he met other trans API people.
