Jay Fullstop

Jarvis Vincent Joseph Kwajo Wiafe Akenteng Jnr (born 2 May 1988) is an English hip hop artist of Ghanaian parents, credited for his stage name as Jay Fullstop, a member of South London's Hip Hop/Grime collective Lyrically Scar’d and recently graduated with a BSc (hons) Business Management degree at Brunel University.
Pen to Paper
At the age of 13 is when jay started writing lyrics of his own while still at school where he would use his school books to write lyrics in, rather than do his homework in them. At that period of time the UK Urban scene was getting noticed commercially and acts such as So Solid Crew, Oxide and Neutrino and others were emerging on our TV screens and radio sets so there was no lack of influence upon him.
Jay Fullstop then took his lyrics to a wider scale, appearing on Pirate radio station to broadcast his style of rhyming stations like Major Fm, Delight Fm, Frontline Fm, Lay Low Fm, World Fm, Horror FM any pirate radio you can think of he was there.
Lyrically Scar’d
Since the establishment in of the Lyrically Scar'd 2004, the crew and Jay continued to performed exceptionally, memorizing live shows at events such as Plan B in Brixton, The New Cross Gateside Festival, New 291 Show at Hackney Empire, Tim Westwood's University Tour, MOBO's University Challenge, The Have You Got Skillz Showcase at Wandsworth Civic Centre, Urban Kingdom Presents 1st Verse at Illusions, SW16, The May Day Festival in Ipswich, Lewisham People's Day 2006, Southwark Youth Council Showcase at Broadway Theartre in Catford, Baracuda Bar in Aldgate and The Carling Academy in Islington, Also hitting various pirate radio]] stations and underground DVDs to showcase their talent.
Jay Fullstop released a solo single ‘Grime Grimey Grimiest’ which was gaining great reception from the underground clubs
In 2007 having featured on BBC Three Singing with the Enemy which received rave reviews from viewers, they showed their passion and versatility within their musical talent and a mature approach to experimenting with different musical styles. In the end Lyrically Scar’d and Dirty Cakes, produced a track named Face Value recorded at Mayfair studios engineered by Tommy Dee. This project did not give Lyrically Scar’d any advantages. as the editing of the programme gave the crew a narrow minded approach towards homophobia. However the track was a success and the Jay and the crew managed to perform at the Cafe de Paris along with the Dirty Cakes
No Mor A Promo
No Mor’ a Promo was released in October 2008 and Jay Fullstop's Debut mixtape which showcased his creative flow, lyrical dexterity and the pounding beats that characterize this unique up and coming urban artist. No Mor a Promo offers us a glimpse into his world and his unique, 12 tracks deep and has positive take on the urban genre that fuses the best of Hip Hop, Grime and Electronica.
No Mor A Promo received over 1300 downloads over 2 months and plays on MySpace reaching over 250,000 which was a great lead up to his 1st studio album City Meals.
On August 16, 2009, Jay Fullstop's track Game Over was chosen for Ras Kwame's introducing Homegrown Podcast on BBC 1Xtra. and received a highly positive reception.
14 September 2009 saw the official digital release of No Mor A Promo as a Deluxe edition, which include the Lyrically Scar'd Track 'Risen'.
City Meals
Released 1 June 2009, Jay Fullstop's debut album City Meals as the first release on CD and MP3 in all digital stores worldwide and independent stores nationwide.
City Meals is a complete album with features from Lyrically Scar’d and production from Jynx, Nana Rogues, Bouncer, Gadget Boy, K-musik and J-menace. The album is an eighteen track audio journey that with an insight into the London City.
This album features the No Mor A Promo debut single ‘Game Over’ as well as the new official debut single produced by Stikmatik ‘Made for today’ featuring Kamara and Fame which will be released later this year (2010).
City Meals was re-released in all stores nationwide on August 2, 2010.
