Jason Baird

Jason Baird (born September 16, 1980) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player.
Baird played major junior hockey from 1997 to 2001 with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League, scoring 87 goals and 131 assists for 218 points, while earning 699 penalty minutes, in 245 games played.
Baird turned professional to play the 2001-02 season in the ECHL where he skated in 67 games with the Cincinnati Cyclones. He then jumped to the Central Hockey League (CHL) where, between 2002 and 2008, he suited up for 308 CHL contests with the Indianapolis Ice, Corpus Christi Rayz, and Youngstown Steelhounds.
Baird was signed to play the 2008-09 season with the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the International Hockey League, however, on July 17, 2008, Baird's career ended when he received third-degree burns to more than 70 percent of his body when a riding lawnmower he was driving exploded.
