Jamshyd D. F. Lam

Jamshyd Lam (born 22 March 1943) is an Indian hotelier belonging to the Lam family. Known for his work with the Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces.
Early life
He was born into the Parsi Lam family to Dinshaw Lam and Mani Lam. His education was at the St. Mary's School, Mumbai (ICSE), and also a boarding school in Nainital, he finished his BA (Economics Hons.) at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, Jamshyd studied HMCT at Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Mumbai, F.I.T.H. Salzburg, Austria, MHCIMA, London
Career
Lam initially joined The Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces in 1964 as the first Management Trainee.
He was the General Manager of The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower from the year 1980-1985 when the hotel ranked as the 5th best Hotel in the world and carried on the rank for the year after too.
He was also the key person in the restoration and transfiguration of The Lake Palace into a hotel property.
He was the key person to the set up The Taj Bengal Hotel project in Kolkata.
He is responsible menu formation of the Bombay Brasserie Restaurant at in London.
