Jamie Humphreys

Jamie James Humphreys born 27 June 1982 is a writer, poet and song writer. Born Stephen James Humphreys his given name changed to Jamie soon after his birth for unknown reasons.
His first poetry book “Qui Tacet Consentire” loosely translated as “Those Who Stay Silent Consent” was highly commended by critics but was discontinued due to the content. After this Humphreys pulled out from his contract with the publishers claiming poetry was free and like all art is an expression of thoughts and visions and should never be censored.
His second poetry book “Autumn Dares” was regarded more subtler and some claimed brought down after the first book. Humphreys strongly denies this and said he writes what he feels at the time and if his previous history is anything to go by you know this isn’t something he would do.
Jamie Humphreys first novel “Lying with the Liars” was written in 2004 but writing started back in 1996 as a 14 year old.
Humphreys is currently working on a new piece about living with friends, a different piece after the trauma of the first 3 self loathing pieces this will be hilarious and stories legendary. Based on true events its much anticipated due to the wild and wreckless reputation of Humphreys and his close friends.
After being arrest for indecent exposure at Buckingham Palace after a night out his career was in danger and he wasn’t sure which way to turn, but after a short spell in a mental home he got himself back to a level of sanity to start writing again.
Humphreys has always claimed the hardest thing for him about writing is that he hates it. “I find it boring, tedious, degrading and frustrating, but I can’t not do it, I always have. Its like having obsessive compulsive disorder, I don’t want to slap my face 10 times in the face on the hour every hour but I have to, its the same for me, I don’t want to write poetry but it seems my burden is that its in my nature. I only ever wanted to be a Rock Star”
Suffereing from server despression most of his short life he is on strong medication but claims he cannot write when on medication as it blocks the creativity and cannot write when he isnt on them as he is too depressed. He also stated that his witt derives from his “Dark Mistress” so at least he can be funny when not trying to escape his mind. According to him the only reason he is still alive is music
When asked who he is his response was a “straight Oscar Wilde with more than just one liners”
Now 26 Jamie Humphreys is living in London where he was born and is working on his latest untitled novel.
