James M. King (politician)

James M. King was an American politician from Minnesota, who served as the sixth Mayor of Bloomington, Minnesota
King founded an insurance agency, James M. King insurance, in 1947. He moved its headquarters to Bloomington in 1954. He also served in the US Army during the Korean War, in the 151st artillery battalion. He later served two terms as Mayor of Bloomington from 1970-1973, being elected in 1969 and 1971. His son Paul took over the insurance company in 1974. He died of cancer in 2005 at the age of 76. As of 2021 Paul King is running for Bloomington city council.
