James M. Hill Memorial High School

James M. Hill Memorial High School has grades 9 to 12 with an enrollment of approximately 800 students. It is located in the city of Miramichi, New Brunswick. Miramichi is an amalgamation of many small, rural communities, this high school is located in what used to be Chatham.

James M Hill has been and continues to be well known for participation in many sports, drama festivals, reach for the top tournaments as well as for it innovation with technology. It is one of the few schools in New Brunswick where online courses are taught to students all over the province of New Brunswick. This online teaching enables students in all parts of the province to take courses which would otherwise not be offered in their school. Examples of such courses include Spanish language, Economics, and Information Technology.

The mascot of this school is a large green and gold cat called the "Tommie Cat". Also, Principal, Claude LeBerge, is somewhat of a school mascot himself. The school has a large "Tommie Cat" costume that is worn to many of the schools events. The school colors are Green and Gold and are worn with the highest pride by students and staff alike. The staff, especially teachers such as Penny Matthews and Ken McDowell are highly respected and loved by the students.

Rival school MVHS who beats James M. Hill at sports. James M. Hill High School, which dates from the 1970s, is the successor school to three previous high schools of the town of Chatham, namely hatham High School, which mainly served the non Catholic people of the town and the two Catholic high schools, St. Michael's Academy for the girls and St. Thomas High Schools for the boys. In a broader sense it is also the successor school to the small high schools in surrounding communities, such as Loggieville which lost its high school in 1962.

James M.Hill also has its own radio station known as CHIL 90.1 FM.
