James Kicklighter

Biography

James Kicklighter is an American film producer and social activist.

He is the Co-Chairman of JamesWorks Entertainment, LLC, a member of the Southeastern Film Association , which strives to promote the work of Southern filmmakers, and an Associate Member of the Writers Guild of America, East.

He recently served as Executive Producer of That Guy: the Legacy of Dub Taylor. , which first screened Dub's hometown of Augusta, Georgia . This was the first film to examine the life of the character actor, interviewing many of his friends and co-workers, ranging from John Mellencamp, to Dixie Carter, to David Zucker. The film, which is set to be complete at the end of 2008, examines Taylor's contributions and the evolution of the western film and cinema in general.

He is also the producer of The One Second Film . Upcoming writing projects include a Civil War drama, Mountain Morning, television drama pilot "Lovers & Friends," and television comedy pilot, "Punk Gods."

Education

He currently attends Georgia Southern University, where he is a First Year Experience Peer Leader and Southern Ambassador. He was one of six students profiled in the University's 2007-2008 Freshman Road Piece, for which there are nearly 100,000 copies printed, with the purpose of recruiting Freshman. Mr. Kicklighter is a brother and chartering member in the Epsilon Omega chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, where he is the Recording Secretary and serves on the Executive Committee. Volunteer work includes time with Special Olympics, local schools, and campuswide functions.

In his high school career, he served under Georgia State Superintendent of Schools Kathy Cox on the first , for which he was reappointed to a second term.

Social Activism

He is a firm advocate of protecting the environment, recently directing a spot for the National Tap Water Campaign, now available on YouTube.
