James E. Wolfe is a rap artist and radio DJ best known under the name Super-Wolf. He is known for being one of the first to use the concept of rhythmic articulation against a background of a heavy baseline, a horn section, and the use of catchy melodies. He is known for releasing one of the first hit rap songs, Super-Wolf Can Do It. The song garnered so much regional fame in his native Tennessee that it eventually got released via Sugarhill Records. All of his songs were released via his own record label Big Bad Wolf Records. James E. Wolfe is married to the singer Denise LaSalle with whom he has recorded such songs as Get Up and Pay Your Funk Bill and Hooked on the Rap. Little is known of this seminal rap artist that paved the way for the future of rap.
