A song written by Carl Giesecke, drummer for the 1970's Dallas psychedelic-punk band The Nervebreakers, recorded in 1978 and released on their first EP "Politics" from Wild Child Records. The song "My Girlfriend is A Rock" became a runaway hit in San Francisco, Sacramento, and Boston and was later covered by the Angry Samoans and Wool, among others. A second version was recorded by The Nervebreakers in 1980 and included on "We Want Everything" (LP on Existential Vacuum Records & CD on Get Hip Records).
