James Vernon Allridge III (14 November 1962 - 26 August 2004) was an American murderer, born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, executed by lethal injection by the state of Texas. Allridge shot and killed Brian Clendennen, a young convenience store clerk at a Circle K in Fort Worth on 3 February 1985. He robbed around $300 from the store. His older brother Ronald Keith Allridge drove the get-away car. On 25 March 1985, James drove the get-away car when his brother Ronald killed Carla McMillen during a robbery of a Whataburger restaurant in Fort Worth. Ronald was sentenced to death for this murder and was executed in 1995. When asked if he had a final statement, Allridge addressed Brian Clendennen's brother (Shane) and sister, saying: James and Ronald's younger brother Stanley, who watched both their executions, has since become a speaker for the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty.
