Jalgaon State

Jalgaon State or Saranjam is one of the Political Saranjam in British India under Bombay Presidency. Its Capital was Jalgaon City. It was one of the Maratha Jagir in Maharashtra. Its Hindu Ruler was from the dynasty of Anicient Maratha Royal clan named Bhoite. They were Honoured by the titles Such as Paragana Watandar,Jahagirdar,Inamdar being Saranjamdar. This rulers have their root from Satara District Villages Viz. Tadawale, Wagholi, Hingangaon and Aradgaon. Current Descendants Ancestor His Highness Shrimant Tulajirao Bhoite Sarkar actually established this place with his ancestors. He had taken active part in the Battle of Panipat for Marathas and Showed excellent bravery.
Jalgaon Saranjams notable Ruler was His Highness Maharaja Shrimant Trimbakrao Bapurao Bhoite Inamdar, Saranjamdar of Jalgaon, was Magistrate and Chairman of Municipal Standing Committee, Jalgaon ( East Khandesh ). He succeeded after his father and done many notable works in various fields to establish foundation of Modern Jalgaon. His Descendants scattered to Many places but Many lives in the city of Jalgaon.

Jalgaon Saranjam was capital of whole Eastern Khandesh province.East Khandesh, headquartered at Jalgaon, had an area of 4544 mi², and a population of 957,728 in 1901. This state was also named Bhoite Saranjam by the Maratha Prime Ministers Peshwa and British Government. This State was annexed on November 1, 1952 according to The Bombay Saranjams and Jagirs and other Inams of Political Nature Resumption Rules, 1952. The Ruler Bhoites lost their many such estates in current district of Jalgaon by The Bombay Personal Inams (Abolition) Act, 1952 on August 1, 1953.
