Jah Rad

Straight steppin outta Northern California's Marin County, Jah Rad has hit the roots reggae scene with style, grace, n soul. Comprised of six musicians of different backgrounds, Jah Rad features da wicked dub tunes of Mars-P on bass, Bobcat on sax, RasThomas wit vox and riddem guitar, Adam on lead guit, Da Prophet wit percussion, and Chan on drums. A blend of roots reggae, funk, dub, and positive vibrations, the group strives to write feel-good music that moves yah soul. Neva forgetting da family, the band is forevah grateful to da boys and girls who continue to support their work. Jah Rats, made up of da Davis crew, Zaga Crew, Marindijahns, and many otha righteous friends, has been there wit dem from da beginning and for that...BIG RASPECS! Evah loving, evah growing, evah praising.

Forming in the winter 2005, Jah Rad immediately took the underground, white, suburban, reggae scene by storm. They released their first demo in January of 2006, followed by their first EP, The Jahs of Life, in October of 2007. Their staple song, "Zion Calling," almost immediately shot Jah Rad into Marin Reggae stardom with its catchy bass line and even more catchy chorus. Other songs such as "I-and-I" and "Blessed" have become favorites of both high school and college kids in the greater Marin area. Since its formation, Jah Rad has gathered somewhat of a cult following, they dub themselves the "Jah Rats." The Jah Rats are die hard fans that continue to show support in all of Jah Rad's endeavors.
