Jagadheeswaran Dhakshinamoorthy (born on July 2, 1982) is an Indian politician from the state of Tamil Nadu. He is the President of the Tamilnadu Unit of Lok Satta Party. Early life and Career Jagadheeswaran was born in Pudukkottai, Tamil Nadu and did his schooling at the same place. He did his undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering at Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai. By then he decided that he wanted to do public service and that politics is the ultimate solution. However, to stabilize himself economically, he worked for Tata Consultancy Services & Cognizant Technology Solutions for about 8 years. During the same period he was also deputed to US for around 3 years and worked in Hawaii & Connecticut. Political career His political lookout introduced him to Lok Satta Party. In 2011, he contested the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections from Ambattur constituency and Local body elections for Chennai Mayor. After being with the party for around 9 months, he quit his job and became a full-time politician from Jan 2012. Live Telecast of Assembly On behalf of Lok Satta Party, Jagadheeswaran filed a Public Interest Litigation seeking a direction to authorities for ensuring live telecast of the Assembly proceedings. However, the case is pending in the Madras High Court.
