J. Cafesin

J. Cafesin (born 1960), is the pen name of American novelist Jeri Cafesin, author of literary romantic suspense, and young adult (YA), new adult (NA) fantasy fiction. Her bestselling debut novel, Reverb, hit #1 in the Kindle Store in Contemporary Romance in October 2014, and #4 in Best Sellers in the Kindle Store overall. The novel tells the story of a British/American musician who is wrongfully incarcerated in a Scottish asylum for over a year, and follows his road to recovery through Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Reverb is believed to be the first American literary genre novel with explicit sexual assault scenes of a man, the novel's main character. Also exclusive to this novel is the use of both third and first person in present tense throughout the work, noted by reviewers as a unique and original writing technique.
Fractured Fairy Tales of the Twilight Zone was published in January 2014. The first collection of five short stories in the YA/NA series, combining the morality plays of the original Twilight Zone series with the wit of the Fractured Fairy Tales segments in the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons of the early 1960s.
In July 2014, J. Cafesin's second novel, Disconnected, was released. The story chronicles the romance of two post baby-boomers over the course of one year from 1991-1992, in L.A., leading up to the Rodney King beating and subsequent riots. The novel is the first historical literary work that recounts from first-person perspective an intimate view of the events before, during and after the King trial, through the Los Angeles riots that followed the verdict. Called a 'novel memoir,' the author coined the phrase in response to the James Frey/Oprah Winfrey conflict, to illuminate the discrepancy that is built into our memories, making all 'memoirs' glorified fiction.
Prior to exclusively writing fiction, J. Cafesin was formerly a consulting creative director in both the Los Angeles, and San Francisco areas. She currently resides in the Bay Area with her husband, and their two teenage children.
