Johannes Stefansson (born in Iceland in 1973 ) is known as a whistleblower in connection with the so-called Fishrot Files. The documents are e-mails showing that the company Samherji paid hundreds of millions to senior politicians and officials in Namibia: Fisheries Minister Bernhardt Esau, Justice Minister Sacky Shanghala, James Hatuikulipi, Tamson Hatuikulipi, Ricardo Gustavo and Pius Mwatelulo, with the intention of obtaining the country's coveted fishing quota. The scandal also reached Norway, when it was revealed that Norway's largest bank, Den norske Bank, was involved in the transfer of money used in the alleged bribes.
