Islam ul Haque

Lt Col Islam ul Haque is a Retired Pakistan Army officer. He belongs to the Pakistan Army Corps of Engineers. Due to his meritorious services the Government of Pakistan has awarded him Tamgha-e-Imtiaz Military.
Early life & Education
Islam ul Haque was born on 23 March 1956 in Sadiqabad in the Punjab province of Pakistan. He obtained his earlier education in Sadiqabad and BSc in Civil Engineering from Military College of Engineering, Risalpur Master in Business Administration from Allama Iqbal Open University, MS & PhD (Course work completed) in Environmental engineering science from National University of Science and Technology.
Military career
Islam ul Haque was commissioned in the Pakistan Army Corps of Engineers on 16 April 1977 in the 55 PMA Long Course. Lt Gen Tariq Khan Corps Commander Mangla, Lt Gen Zaheer ul Islam DG ISI, Pakistan, Lt Gen Saleem Nawaz, IGA Pakistan Army and Lt Gen Agha Muhammad Umar Farooq are his course mates. After successful completion of training from Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul he joined 5 Engineering Battalion as a 2nd Lieutenant. During his military career he performed duties at different positions in both command and staff level. He also completed many military projects in construction of Roads and buildings. He had participated in Indo-Pak Conflict Kargil War in 1999 and also participated in Mines clearing operation in first Gulf war.
Later career
After premature retirement from Pakistan Army he mostly worked in the field of Water, Environment, Arsenic and Climate Change with various National and International Organizations including Unicef, Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resource, Water and Sanitation Agency Rawalpindi (Government of Punjab) and Plan International Pakistan. His research work is published by various national / international organizations on Arsenic Mitigation Water and Climate Change.
Honors
According to World Bank Report during his tenure WASA Rawalpindi has made considerable progress in service delivery to the consumers of WASA covered area as compare to other WASA's in Punjab. His MS Environmental Engineering and Sciences Thesis on "Use of Municipal Wastewater in Plain cement construction work" is published by LAMBERT Academic Publisher, Germany.
During his tenure WASA Rawalpindi was elected as a Member of steering committee of Global Water Operators Partnership Alliance (GWOPA) in GWOPA foundation meeting held from January 29-30th, 2009, in Nairobi, Kenya.
