Irish Moutarde is a Canadian Cover band band from Quebec City, Québec, founded in 2009 and currently playing mainly songs from Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly. History Formed in 2009 by Mathieu Audet (rhythm guitar), Frédéric Audette (bass), Jérôme Bélanger (lead guitar), Andrée-Anne Hallé (vocals) and Sébastien Malenfant (drums), Irish Moutarde is a punk rock cover band from Quebec City that plays mainly songs from Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly. They also have in their set-list songs from irish and folk bands such as U2, The Cranberries and Great Big Sea along with several irish classics such as The Fields of Athenry and Whiskey in the jar. In April 2010, bagpipes player Christian Haerinck, also playing in Quebec City's 78th Fraser Highlanders, officially joined the band as the 6th permanent member. Created at first as a spin-off project for the return of the Quebec City's St-Patrick's parade (the first in 86 years), the original goal of the band was to do only one show to promote the return of the parade. Due to very positive response and demand, the band ended up doing five shows, the last one being the half-time show at the 6th edition of the semi-finals of renowned rock contest 2nd Skin Rock Contest. Since then, they have played a sold-out show at the Quebec Celtic Festival. Considering that there are plenty of irish descendents in the Quebec City region, the primary mission of Irish Moutarde is to promote the celtic and irish folklore, especially among young adults (18-40).
