The first third-party iPod software was introduced in 2004. With the increasing sales of iPods, more versatile iPod software is being created. This is still a new industry, however there are now language products, games, and even wine products available for the iPod. This industry is expected to increase as the new Apple iPhone has been introduced.

Some companies providing iPod software include EA Games and CyraKnow
