Intra-party democracy is a concept describing efforts, particularly in those corporatist parties, to increase transparency, participation, and accountability in party affairs and transform the system of appointing party officials from selection by party committee to election by party members. The concept of intra-party democracy are characteristics of political party systems in Pacific Asia such as China. Intra-party democracy and inclusivity needs to be sustainable, and this requires that a political party has in place structures and systems that will ensure that all groups are catered for at all times.
